"These are poems that grew in the garden I created out of a bit of wasteland behind my home in Southbury," says Sandy Lee Carlson, a teacher and a master gardener whose business One Tree at a Time focuses on removing invasive plants from residential properties. "Transforming a patch of land long ago surrendered to invasive plants that had run amok into a butterfly garden deep with pollinators that are just thriving was a healing experience that opened my heart to a number of epiphanies that moved me to write. So I did, and here we are."
