The Nature of Woodbury
If the “real work of the artist is a way of being in the world” (Rick Rubin, The Creative Act), then it is possible to make of one’s life a work of art. The place in which a person lives then becomes part of the raw material for the creative act of being alive. Where we are is intrinsically part of who we are. The many people who responded to the request for creative works that reflect the nature of Woodbury for this collection are living proof that the nature of the place we live in shapes individual nature, identity.
