Guidelines
We are happy to consider your work for publication in our online poetry journal and/or any themed anthology. We look forward to reading it and, perhaps, getting to know you better through this poetry community.
At this time, we can offer only publishing credit for your work online or in print, though we do often do raffles for contributors of newly published anthologies. We do hope to be able to do more as Orenaug Mountain Publishing matures.
We do not charge for submissions, and we do not require you to purchase a copy of an anthology, though we greatly appreciate your support, especially as we strive to grow OMP.
Themed Collections
We will read and respond to your submission to a themed collection as soon as we can. Due to the volume of submissions, we may not let you know of acceptance for an anthology until we have a proof ready for distribution. Depending on the deadline, it could be a couple of months before you hear from us.
You may submit to as many themed anthologies as you want. When noted, we may accept more than one submission.
OMPJ Submissions
You may submit one poem per month. As the number of submissions have greatly increased in recent months, we are scheduling poems for publication in the OMPJ three to four months in advance. If you do not hear from us with questions or a schedule, we have decided not to publish your work.
Please do not submit a piece that you have submitted elsewhere if the other publication will require exclusive rights for any period of time. Once your poem has been scheduled or been laid out in an anthology, we will not remove it from its place.
Submission Requirements
Submit your poems using our form, especially for the anthologies. We use the form for contact and social media information, and it's best when all the entries are in one place.
There are instructions on the form about what to do if your poem contains any unusual spacing or italics.
We'll do our best to duplicate, but as a web page is different from a printed page, it may not look exactly as you intended.
Submit only your best work and final drafts. Be sure you have taken the time to edit and revise your poems until they are the best they can be. We will consider publishing your poem provided your submission meets minimum literary standards, including spelling, punctuation, and grammar, and is not offensive and/or hateful.
We will not publish anything that arrives with multiple typos or missing words.
Paste your poem into the window of the form in the condition you would expect to publish it if you were publishing on your own.
Please do not submit a piece that has already been published somewhere else.
Special Cases
Please do not submit any experimental poetry. We will not publish it.
If you submit haikus, please include three pieces within the same submission. While the form has only one title field, you can submit your three haikus in the body field with their titles.
