Hiding in the Daylight

Hiding in the Daylight

Longing does not need memory
Everything was different
Even ourselves
Before I looked for you
You were always there
At night I hear the echo of the owl
Whether you heard it or not
Obscured in darkness
Do I remember who I was
Looking for the way forward
In the morning you appeared to me
Outside looking inward
Shadows of leaves dancing
Days when the sun was most loved
You were hiding in the daylight
